Nassau County authorities have arrested Rony Alvarenga-Rivera, 22, for the “savage” stabbing deaths of two women on Long Island. The suspect, an undocumented migrant, was apprehended after approaching police in Lynbrook and reportedly confessing, “I’ve killed someone.”

Investigators believe the attacks occurred hours apart on Thursday night and early Friday morning:
- Thursday, 9:00 PM (Valley Stream): Police discovered the body of Eddy Raquel Hernandez Castillo, 32, during a wellness check at the home she shared with the suspect.
- Friday, 12:30 AM (Island Park): Ana Maria del Aguila-Cordova, 42, was fatally attacked while taking out the trash at the Wendy’s where she worked. Surveillance footage linked Alvarenga-Rivera, a coworker of the victim, to the scene.
Current Status
Alvarenga-Rivera has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder. Neighbors and the local community have expressed profound shock, remembering the victims as hardworking mothers and community members.
