The U.S. stock market (NYSE and Nasdaq) is generally open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time (ET). Both exchanges are closed on weekends and observe 10 major holidays annually.

Thanksgiving and Black Friday Schedules

Major holidays, such as Thanksgiving, cause market closures or early dismissals:
