Hit-and-Run Investigation: Delivery Driver Airlifted Near Blue Mountains

A 43-year-old delivery driver is fighting for his life after a hit-and-run in the popular ski destination of Craigleith, Ontario. The incident occurred Saturday night, leaving the victim with critical injuries while the driver remains at large.

The Incident

• When: Saturday, January 31, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m.
• Where: Grey Road 19, a busy corridor serving the Blue Mountain resort area.
• What Happened: The victim, a Collingwood resident, was struck while crossing the road to complete a delivery. The vehicle involved failed to remain at the scene.

Current Status

The victim’s injuries were severe enough to require an emergency airlift to a regional trauma center. His current condition is listed as serious.

Police Appeal for Evidence

The Collingwood/The Blue Mountains OPP are currently canvassing the area for leads. They are specifically asking for:

1. Dashcam Footage: Anyone driving on Grey Road 19 between 8:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.
2. Home Surveillance: Residents in the Craigleith area with cameras facing the roadway.
3. Witnesses: Anyone who saw a vehicle with fresh front-end damage or erratic driving behavior.
