Authorities in Syria have confirmed the arrest of Amjad Youssef, the primary suspect behind the infamous 2013 Tadamon massacre. A former officer in the notorious Military Intelligence Branch 227, Youssef was apprehended in the Al-Ghab Plain near Hama on April 24, 2026.

The Legacy of the Tadamon Massacre
The crimes for which Youssef is accused were kept hidden for nearly a decade until investigative reporting and leaked footage surfaced in 2022.
- The Atrocity: On April 16, 2013, 41 civilians were led to a execution pit in the Tadamon district of Damascus. Victims were blindfolded, shot, and their bodies burned to conceal the crime.
