On May 17, 2026, four deputies from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence on Chick Drive in the Kerens area. The homeowner, 33-year-old Clinton Wayne Nelan, had repeatedly dialed 911 to report an apparent paranormal invasion.

A Supernatural Emergency

According to authorities, Nelan adamantly insisted to the responding deputies that his property was being targeted by an array of sci-fi and supernatural entities. His emergency claims included:

  • Zombies causing disruptions and making noise around his home.
  • Ghosts actively haunting the premises.
  • A UFO hovering in the airspace above his house.
  • A group of people trespassing and harassing him.

The Louisiana Lawman Routine

The situation took an even stranger turn when Nelan met the deputies in his driveway. In an apparent attempt to smooth things over, he claimed to be a visiting police officer from Louisiana.

Unsurprisingly, the deputies weren’t buying the story. They quickly verified that Nelan had no affiliation with any law enforcement agency and placed him under arrest.

The Aftermath: Nelan was transported to the Tygart Valley Regional Jail. He faces misdemeanor charges of misuse of a emergency telephone system and impersonation of a law enforcement officer, with bail set at a $2,500 cash-only bond.
