The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has released the autopsy report for Celeste Rivas Hernandez, the 14-year-old found in a vehicle belonging to the artist D4vd (David Anthony Burke). The report, previously sealed to protect the investigation, provides critical details regarding her death.

- Cause of Death: The report cites “penetrating wounds” to the upper body, including sharp-force injuries to the chest and abdomen that caused fatal internal damage.
- Manner of Death: Formally ruled a homicide.
- Discovery Details: The remains showed significant postmortem changes and dismemberment. Her body was recovered in September 2025 from two separate bags found inside an impounded vehicle.
- Toxicology: Preliminary tests showed presumptive positives for multiple substances; however, examiners noted that some results may be attributed to postmortem decomposition.
Legal Proceedings & Charges
Following his arrest on April 16, 2026, David Burke faces several felony counts:
- First-Degree Murder: Includes special circumstances such as “lying in wait” and “killing a witness.”
- Continuous Sexual Abuse: Relating to allegations of an illegal relationship with the minor.
- Mutilation of Remains: Concerning the treatment of the victim’s body after death.
The Prosecution’s Case
Authorities allege that the victim was killed in April 2025 after threatening to reveal the relationship, which prosecutors claim Burke sought to hide to protect his career. The remains were discovered months later after a foul odor was reported from his impounded Tesla.
