Following the attack at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner (WHCD) on Saturday night, federal investigators have shifted their focus to the West Coast. On Saturday evening, FBI agents executed a search warrant at the Torrance, California, residence of the suspect, Cole Tomas Allen.

- The Raid: Local and federal authorities descended on the South Bay home around 10:30 p.m. PT. Agents were seen removing electronic devices and documents as they worked to uncover a potential motive or evidence of premeditation.

Investigators are piecing together a profile of the California man described by some officials as a “lone wolf.”
- Background: Allen is a highly educated professional, holding a mechanical engineering degree from Caltech (2017) and a recent master’s degree in computer science from CSU Dominguez Hills (2025).
- Employment: He worked locally as a tutor for C2 Education and maintained a career as an independent game developer. Prior to Saturday’s events, he had no known criminal record in the D.C. area.
