ED Attaches UFLEX Group Assets Worth ₹25 Crore in Unitech PMLA Case

Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Headquarters Office, New Delhi has issued a Provisional
Attachment Order under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 on
31.07.2025, in the case of Unitech Limited & others, vide which movable properties in the form of
Fixed Deposits, worth Rs. 25 Crore, belonging to UFLEX Group (UFLEX Limited and Anshika
Investment Private Limited) have been provisionally attached.
ED initiated investigation on the basis of FIRs registered by CBI and Delhi Police under various
sections of IPC, 1860 and Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against M/s Unitech Limited, Ramesh
Chandra, Sanjay Chandra, Preeti Chandra, Ajay Chandra and others. ED investigation has unearthed
that, out of total funds amounting to Rs. 16075.89 Crore received by Unitech Ltd from homebuyers
and financial institutions, funds amounting to Rs. 7794.35 Crore were diverted for non-mandated
purposes.
ED investigation revealed that the homebuyer’s and financial institutions’ funds amounting to Rs. 25
Crore were diverted by Unitech Limited to UFLEX group. Unitech Limited advanced Rs. 20 Crore to
UFLEX Limited and Rs. 5 Crore to Anshika Investments Private Limited, both part of the UFLEX
Group, under the pretext of construction and technical services. However, forensic audit findings and
subsequent investigations revealed discrepancies and irregularities in actual utilization of funds. ED
investigation had revealed a clear diversion of Rs. 25 Crore from Unitech Ltd to UFLEX Group
companies.
Till date, ED has issued 22 Provisional Attachment Orders, wherein, a total of 1292 domestic/overseas
movable/immovable assets having a total value of Rs. 1646.95 Crore have been attached. The
attachments include assets belonging to Carnoustie Group, Shivalik Group, Trikar Group, Uflex Group
and shell, benami & personal companies of Chandras. ED has also filed one main Prosecution
Compliant and two Supplementary Prosecution Complaints in this case.
