The Incident

On December 30, 2025, the Tepes were found shot to death in their Columbus, Ohio, home. Investigators were alerted after Spencer Tepe failed to arrive at his dental practice. Despite the violence of the scene, the couple’s two young children were found physically unharmed inside the residence.

The Charges

During his Friday arraignment, McKee pleaded not guilty to:

  • Aggravated Murder (4 counts): Alleging “prior calculation and design.”
  • Aggravated Burglary (1 count): Unlawful entry with intent to kill.
  • Firearm Specifications: Specifically involving the use of a suppressor (silencer).

Key Evidence Cited by Prosecution

  • Tracking: CCTV and vehicle data allegedly place McKee near the home and track his return to Illinois.
  • Ballistics: A firearm seized from McKee’s Chicago home is reportedly a match for the shell casings found at the scene.
  • No Forced Entry: Investigators believe the killer had specific knowledge of the home’s layout or access.

Current Status

McKee remains in custody at the Franklin County Jail. He is being held without bond, as the court deemed him a significant flight risk given his resources and the severity of the charges.
