Status of the Personnel

While the F-15E operates with a two-person crew, only one has been recovered so far:

• The Pilot/WSO: One crew member was successfully extracted by U.S. Special Operations in a daring recovery mission.
• The Missing: The second crew member remains unaccounted for.
• A-10 Recovery: Separately, an A-10 Warthog was also lost recently; however, its pilot ejected over the Persian Gulf and was safely rescued by maritime forces.
