Smriti Mandhana Confirms Wedding Called Off, Focuses on Cricket Career

India’s star batter Smriti Mandhana has released a statement confirming that her previously scheduled wedding to music composer Palash Muchhal has been called off. The marriage, initially postponed due to the hospitalization of Mandhana’s father, was the subject of recent public speculation.

In her Instagram post, Mandhana appealed for privacy, stating, “I need to clarify that the wedding is called off.” She requested that the matter be closed to allow both families “space to process and move on at our own pace.”

Mandhana emphasized her commitment to her professional life, writing, “for me that has always been representing my country at the highest level… that is where my focus will forever be.” She concluded her message by asserting, “It’s time to move forward.”

The cricketing icon, who was the second-highest run-scorer in India’s recent Women’s ODI World Cup campaign, is now preparing for the upcoming five-T20I series against Sri Lanka, starting December 21. Following the international commitment, she will lead Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 2026 WPL season.
