What to Look For
Measles symptoms typically show up between 7 and 21 days post-exposure.
- Phase 1 (The Cold Phase): Fever, cough, runny nose, and red, watery eyes. Look for tiny white spots inside the cheeks.
- Phase 2 (The Rash): A distinct red, blotchy rash that starts on the face and travels downward.
Your Action Plan
- Verify Vaccination: Check if you’ve had both doses of the MMR/MMRV vaccine.
- Call Before You Go: If you feel sick, phone your doctor or clinic first. Do not walk into a waiting room, as you could accidentally spread the virus to vulnerable people.
