BINNINGEN, SWITZERLAND – Formal murder charges have been filed against the husband of Kristina Joksimovic, a former Miss Switzerland finalist, following a gruesome investigation into her death in February 2024. Prosecutors in Basel-Landschaft allege that the suspect, identified in court documents as Thomas, carried out a calculated and “exceptionally cold-blooded” killing.

According to the prosecution’s findings, Joksimovic (38) was strangled to death before her body was methodically dismembered. Investigators revealed disturbing details regarding the crime scene:
- Tools Used: The suspect allegedly utilized a jigsaw, knives, and garden shears to dismember the victim.
- Extreme Brutality: Reports indicate that portions of the victim’s remains were processed in an industrial blender.
- Calculated Indifference: Prosecutors allege the suspect was watching YouTube videos on his phone while performing these acts.
Rejection of Self-Defense Claim
Initially, Thomas told authorities he found his wife dead. He later changed his statement, claiming he killed her in self-defense after she allegedly attacked him with a knife. However, forensic experts and the Public Prosecutor’s Office have rejected this account.
Autopsy results confirmed the cause of death was strangulation, and investigators found no evidence of a struggle or injury to the suspect that would support a self-defense claim. Prosecutors described his behavior following the death as displaying a “chilling lack of empathy.”
