Patna High Court Orders Congress to Remove AI Video of PM Modi’s Late Mother

In a significant legal development, the Patna High Court on September 17, 2025, ordered the Congress party to remove an AI-generated “deepfake” video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother from all social media platforms.

The video, which was posted by the Bihar unit of the Congress on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, showed a fictional conversation between PM Modi and a character resembling his mother, Heeraben Modi. In the clip, the AI-generated mother character criticizes her son’s political decisions, including demonetization.

The video quickly sparked a political firestorm, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) calling it “highly condemnable” and a “disgusting” insult to the late prime minister’s mother. BJP leaders accused the Congress of “crossing all limits” and lowering political discourse ahead of the Bihar assembly elections.

In response, the BJP’s Delhi Election Cell convenor, Sanket Gupta, filed an FIR against the video on September 13, alleging it “tarnished” the image of the Prime Minister and his late mother. Delhi Police have since registered a case.

The Patna High Court’s directive came after a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed, and the court also issued notices to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and various social media platforms, seeking their responses.

  2. I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of your website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or two images. Maybe you could space it out better?
