The Suspect and New Allegations

Median Jackson, 32, has been charged in connection with a July 2025 home invasion in Hillside, near Huntsville. The incident, which saw Highway 11 shut down for hours during a massive police manhunt, has now led to 13 new criminal counts against Jackson, including:

  • Kidnapping with a firearm.
  • Armed Robbery (3 counts).
  • Forcible Confinement (2 counts).
  • Assault with a Weapon and pointing a firearm.
  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offense.

The “Project South” Connection

Jackson’s name first surfaced as a key figure in Project South, a sprawling investigation into systemic corruption within the Toronto Police Service.

The Core Plot: Investigators allege that a veteran police officer leaked the private home address of a senior corrections official to Jackson. This leak was purportedly intended to facilitate a targeted hit on the official.

The investigation has been a “black eye” for local law enforcement, resulting in the arrests of seven active Toronto officers and one retiree on charges ranging from bribery to drug trafficking.

What’s Next?

Jackson is the eighth person to be charged in the Muskoka case. While he remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing on February 25, 2026, authorities warn that they are still pursuing additional suspects who are considered “armed and dangerous.”
