Foiled Plot: Two Teens Charged in Indiana School Shooting Conspiracy

Two 17-year-old girls, Alexis Pickett and Melanie Little, now face charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder after authorities uncovered a detailed plan to attack the school.

The plot was uncovered through a digital trail that stretched from Indiana to Mississippi.

• Digital Coordination: The suspects allegedly used Discord to map out the attack. Pickett (the Indiana student) reportedly sent Little (who lives in Mississippi) videos of the school’s interior, highlighting dead ends and hallway layouts.
• The Timeline: The attack was allegedly set for May 25, 2026, a date chosen to coincide with the school’s graduation festivities.
• The Weaponry: Conversations between the two reportedly included plans to acquire muzzleloader firearms and recipes for homemade explosives, including IEDs and Molotov cocktails.

A Mother’s Intervention

The hero of this story is Pickett’s mother, Rhonda Nicholson. In December 2025, she contacted the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department after noticing her daughter’s growing obsession with the 1999 Columbine shooting. Her decision to report her daughter provided the “smoking gun” investigators needed to intervene before any physical harm occurred.
