FASTag Annual Pass: Key Terms and Conditions You Need to Know

Here’s how to activate the new FASTag Annual Pass and what you need to know about the terms and conditions.

How to Get Your FASTag Annual Pass

Starting August 15, 2025, frequent highway travelers can get an annual pass for their FASTag. This pass is designed for private vehicle owners and allows for up to 200 toll-free trips on national highways and expressways or one year of use, whichever comes first.

The pass costs ₹3,000 for the 2025-26 base year.

To get the pass, follow these simple steps:

  1. Check Eligibility: Make sure your vehicle is a private car, jeep, or van. Commercial vehicles are not eligible. Your FASTag must be active and correctly linked to your vehicle’s registration number.
  2. Use an Official Channel: Apply only through the official Rajmarg Yatra mobile app or the NHAI website. Avoid third-party sites to prevent fraud.
  3. Pay the Fee: After your vehicle details are verified, you’ll be prompted to pay the ₹3,000 fee online.
  4. Activate: The pass will be activated on your FASTag, usually within two hours of payment. You will get an SMS confirmation.

Key Terms and Conditions

  • Cost and Validity: The pass costs ₹3,000 and is valid for one year from activation or after 200 trips, whichever comes first. After that, your FASTag will revert to normal toll payments.
  • Coverage: The pass works only on NHAI-managed toll plazas on National Highways and National Expressways. It doesn’t cover state highways, local roads, or parking.
  • Trip Counting: At point-based tolls, each crossing is one trip. For closed toll systems (where you enter and exit), one entry and exit pair counts as a single trip.
  • Non-Transferable: The pass is linked to one specific vehicle and its FASTag and cannot be transferred to another vehicle.
  • No Refunds: The fee is non-refundable, even if you don’t use all 200 trips within the year.
