Stunned by the language, D’Souza questioned the rise of this rhetoric: “In a career spanning 40 years, I have never encountered this type of rhetoric. The Right never used to talk like this. So who on our side has legitimised this type of vile degradation? It’s a question worth thinking about.”
Growing Anti-Indian Sentiment
The incident highlights a disturbing trend of anti-Indian sentiment rising within the MAGA movement. This hostility is not limited to social media; it has also targeted other prominent Indian-American Republicans, including:

Racist remarks have been amplified during cultural events like Diwali, and the debate over the H-1B visa program has become a flashpoint for resentment, with some critics arguing it takes jobs from American workers. For instance, far-right pastor Joel Webbon mocked Kash Patel’s Diwali greeting, telling him to “go back to India and worship demons.”
This public row has alarmed both political commentators and members of the Indian-American community, forcing a confrontation with racial animus from an unexpected quarter.
