Congress Slams PM Modi with ’56-Inch’ Dig After Trump Repeats India-Pak Peace Claim

US President Donald Trump has again claimed that he personally stopped the India-Pakistan military conflict using the threat of cutting off trade.

Speaking in Japan and South Korea, Trump reportedly made this claim for the 56th time, referencing the 2025 conflict that erupted after the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s subsequent Operation Sindoor.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh seized on the remarks to criticize Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ramesh shared the video clips, quipping that the “self-styled but now thoroughly shrunken and exposed 56-inch chest remains silent.”

India’s Official Position: New Delhi has consistently maintained that the cessation of hostilities was achieved through direct bilateral talks between the two nations’ military officials (DGMOs), and no third-party mediation was involved.
