CBI Court Cracks Down on Export Fraud: Rajender Sharma & Satyapal Singh Convicted

CBI Court, Sentences two accused along with Compensation of Rs. 9 lakhs in a case of Fraudulent Duty Drawback Claims Worth over Rs. 14 lakhs

CBI Court, RADC, New Delhi, on 30.06.2025, sentenced two accused Rajender Sharma and Satyapal Singh along with compensation of Rs. 9 lakh in a case of fraudulent duty drawback claims.

CBI had registered the case on 30.12.2003 against Sh. Rajender Sharma, Prop., M/s Siddharthi and unknown officials of AEPC, Ministry of Textile, New Delhi and others on allegation of  manipulating the documents for false export of Garments and obtaining illegal duty draw back with the help of Satyapal Singh, another accused person.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Sh. Rajender Sharma, Prop., M/s. Siddharthi handed over the export license to some other person and manipulated documents for false export of garments and obtained illegal duty draw back to the tune of Rs. 14,01,828/-in criminal conspiracy with Satyapal Singh, accused person.

 CBI filed chargesheet against the accused persons namely Sh. Rajender Sharma and Sh. Satyapal Singh on 29.06.2005. During the trial, both the accused admitted their guilt.

The Court, under plea bargaining, convicted the accused Rajender Sharma and sentenced him to imprisonment for the period of custody of 75 days already undergone by him. In addition, the convict was ordered to pay fine of Rs.6000/-.The Court also convicted the another accused Satyapal Singh and sentenced him to imprisonment till the rising of the court and fine of Rs. 6000/-. In addition, both the convicted accused   namely Rajender Sharma and Satyapal Singh will pay total compensation of  Rs. 9 Lakhs to the complainant Apparel Export Promotion Council,New Delhi in three equal instalments of Rs.3 Lakhs each within 06 months from the date of pronouncement of judgment.
