Director Maruthi has moved quickly to quell a wave of panic among fans after an earthquake and subsequent tsunami warning in Japan led to deep concern for the safety of star Prabhas. Maruthi confirmed that the beloved ‘Rebel Star’ is safe, well, and located away from the immediate area of concern.
Prabhas Confirmed Safe, Away from Tokyo
The pan-India star is currently in Japan to promote his globally successful film, Baahubali: The Epic, which has a major release slated for the East Asian country. When news of a strong earthquake and a tsunami warning began circulating, fans immediately took to social media to inquire about Prabhas’s health and location.
On X (formerly Twitter), a fan post translated to, “It seems there is an earthquake and a tsunami warning in Japan. Our hero is there, and he is supposed to return tomorrow,” highlighting the widespread fear.
In response, Director Maruthi of Prabhas’s upcoming film The Raja Saab, personally contacted the actor and provided a swift update early on Tuesday. Replying to the concerned tweet, Maruthi stated: “Spoke to Darling; he is not in Tokyo and is doing safe, no worries.” This statement offered immediate relief to the actor’s worried fanbase.
Rajamouli Sends Message to ‘Baahubali’
Prabhas’s promotional visit for Baahubali: The Epic has been met with an enthusiastic response from Japanese audiences.
During his visit, Prabhas received a touching message from his Baahubali director, SS Rajamouli. The filmmaker wrote: “Knowing you, darling, if you’ve already tasted the love of the Japanese audience, you must be in tears right now. Finally, my Baahubali has arrived in my second home. I hope you enjoy Japan as much as I have enjoyed every visit.” Rajamouli concluded with a greeting to his fans, “To all my Japanese friends, I love you all. Arigato gozaimasu.” Prabhas, in turn, expressed how much he missed the acclaimed director.
Update on ‘The Raja Saab’ Music
Separately, the music director for the highly anticipated The Raja Saab (directed by Maruthi) provided an exciting update on the film’s soundtrack. In a short clip shared on social media, the musician teased the second single, which is named ‘Sahana Sahana’.
Describing the track as an “uber cool melody,” the director revealed that the romantic song will feature Prabhas singing to co-star Nidhhi Agerwal. The film also features Malavika Mohanan and Ridhi Kumar as lead actresses.
