The FBI has joined the investigation into an “intentional” explosion that occurred on the Harvard University’s Longwood Medical School campus early Saturday morning.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The incident took place just before 3:00 a.m. on the fourth floor of the Goldenson building (220 Longwood Avenue). A Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) officer, responding to a fire alarm, observed two masked individuals fleeing the scene. The officer attempted to stop them, but they escaped.
The Boston Fire Department Arson Unit quickly determined that the blast was deliberate, and authorities believe a single device was involved. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and a sweep by Boston Police confirmed no other devices were present.
The HUPD is actively working with local, state, and federal partners to identify the two suspects, who were captured on surveillance footage.
