Speaking at the Gaza peace deal ceremony in Jerusalem’s Knesset (Parliament) on Monday, Netanyahu lauded Trump’s diplomacy, calling him the first non-Israeli ever considered for the Israel Prize.

Key Highlights from the Ceremony:

  • Israel Prize Nomination: Netanyahu formally announced the nomination for the Israel Prize, which he called “our highest award.” He told Trump regarding the Nobel, “It’s only a matter of time, you’ll get it. But I want you to receive the Israel Prize.”
  • Highest Civilian Distinction: Separately, Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s office confirmed that Trump will receive the Presidential Medal of Honour, which is Israel’s highest civilian distinction. This is in recognition of his role in securing the recent Gaza ceasefire and the release of all living hostages.
  • Nobel Peace Prize Support: Netanyahu reiterated his formal nomination of Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, praising him for “forging peace in one country and one region after another” through the Abraham Accords and subsequent Gaza negotiations.
  • Knesset Ovation: The gesture drew a standing ovation at the Knesset, where Netanyahu praised Trump, stating, “Never have I seen anyone move the world so quickly, decisively and resolutely as our friend Donald J Trump.”

Trump, who has often claimed he “deserves” the Nobel for his peace initiatives, called the latest recognition from Israel “the greatest honour from a nation I deeply respect.”

Nobel Update

While Trump did not receive the 2025 prize, the award went to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, who dedicated part of her acceptance speech to Trump, praising his support for Venezuela’s democratic movement. Trump reacted publicly by reiterating his belief that he “really deserved” the prize.

  1. Thanks for revealing your ideas. I’d personally also like to say that video games have been ever evolving. Technology advances and improvements have made it simpler to create sensible and enjoyable games. These types of entertainment games were not actually sensible when the concept was being tried. Just like other areas of technology, video games also have had to progress via many ages. This itself is testimony for the fast growth and development of video games.
