Qatar Duty Free is the first to accept UPI, providing a seamless payment experience for Indian visitors right at Hamad International Airport. This move eliminates the hassle of carrying cash or worrying about currency exchange.

How to Pay with UPI in Qatar

Using UPI in Qatar is simple and works just like it does in India.

  1. Find a UPI-enabled merchant: Look for outlets that use a POS terminal powered by QNB and NETSTARS. Qatar Duty Free is a great place to start.
  2. Open your UPI app: Launch the app on your smartphone, whether it’s Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or another.
  3. Scan the QR code: The merchant will have a QR code ready for you to scan at the counter.
  4. Enter the amount and confirm: Your app will show the amount in both Qatari Riyals and Indian Rupees. Just enter your UPI PIN to complete the transaction instantly.

This new service not only makes life easier for Indian travelers but also helps boost Qatar’s tourism and retail sectors by providing a convenient, secure payment method.
