- From 12% to 5%: Kitchen essentials, including butter, ghee, cheese, and iron/steel utensils, also see a significant price drop.
Automobiles & Home Appliances
In a major relief for consumers, the GST on several large purchases has been slashed.
- From 28% to 18%: Get ready for lower prices on small cars, motorcycles (≤350cc), auto components, buses, and trucks.
- From 28% to 18%: The tax on air conditioners, TVs (>32 inches), and dishwashers has also been reduced, making home electronics more accessible.

- From 18% to 5%: Popular services like salons, spas, and hotel accommodation (up to ₹7,500/day) are now cheaper.
A Boost for Farmers and Local Industries

- From 12% to 5%: Bicycles, solar panels, windmills, and many handicrafts and textiles will see a price reduction, supporting both green energy adoption and small-scale industries.
Simplified Processes for Businesses
In addition to rate cuts, the government is also making it easier to do business. The new regime includes:
- Automatic GST Registration within three business days for eligible applicants.
- System-based Provisional Refunds to speed up the process for businesses with zero-rated supplies.
