As of October 1, 2025, YES Bank is updating its fee structure for Smart Salary and Yes Vijay accounts. The revised charges will affect various services, including debit cards, ATM usage, and cheque returns.
Smart Salary Accounts
Here’s a breakdown of the new charges for Smart Salary accounts:
- Debit Card Fees: Smart Salary Advantage accounts will have a ₹199 joining fee for a RuPay debit card. For Smart Salary Exclusive and higher accounts, joining and renewal fees for Engage or Explore debit cards will be waived if you maintain a monthly salary credit of at least ₹10,000 or an average monthly balance of ₹10,000.
- ATM Transactions: You can make up to three free transactions a month at other bank ATMs in metro locations and five in non-metro locations. After that, financial transactions will be charged ₹23 each, and non-financial transactions will be ₹10. For international use, cash withdrawals will cost ₹150 and balance inquiries ₹20.
- Cheque Returns: A cheque returned due to insufficient funds will incur a fee of ₹500 for the first time and ₹750 for subsequent instances.
- Zero-Balance Status: Your zero-balance account will remain active as long as you receive a monthly salary credit. If a salary isn’t credited for three consecutive months, the account may be reclassified as a regular savings account, subject to non-maintenance charges of up to ₹750.
Yes Vijay Accounts
The updated charges for Yes Vijay accounts are as follows:
- Debit Cards: Element and Engage debit cards will be issued free of charge.
- Cash Transactions: The first two cash transactions or up to ₹1 lakh per month at branches or bulk note acceptors are free. After that, a charge of ₹4.5 per ₹1,000 (with a minimum of ₹150) will apply.
- Cheque Returns: The fee for a cheque returned due to insufficient funds is ₹350 for the first instance and ₹750 for subsequent instances.
- Special Privileges: Defence and pension account holders will continue to enjoy unlimited free transactions at all YES Bank ATMs, along with free NEFT/RTGS and digital banking services.
