Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Dehradun has provisionally attached immovable
property worth Rs.1.75 Crore (approx.) in the case of Brij Bihari Sharma & others under the
provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.
ED initiated investigation on the basis of FIR registered by the Vigilance
Establishment, Dehradun, Uttarakhand under various sections of IPC, 1860, Forest
Conservation Act, 1980, Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 and Prevention of Corruption Act,
1988.
ED investigation revealed that the main accused Kishanchand, the then Divisional
Forest Officer, Kalagarh Tiger Reserve Forest, Dehradun in connivance with Brij Bihari
Sharma, the then Forest Ranger of Pakhro Range and other officers/officials/contractor have
constructed multiple illegal structures in the Corbett National Park without taking prior
approval from the competent authority and have caused revenue loss to the exchequer.
ED investigation further revealed that the Proceeds of Crime was used to acquire
immovable properties in the name of Rajlaxmi Sharma, w/o Brij Bihari Sharma and Abhishek
Kumar Singh & Yugendra Kumar Singh, both sons of accused Kishanchand, the then DFO.
Provisional Attachment Order (PAO) attaching these immovable properties valued at Rs.
1.75 Crore (approx.) has been issued which includes plots situated in District- Haridwar,
Uttarakhand and Bijnor, UP.
