CBI Court Sentences then Manager (Quality Control), FCI, Buxar, to 1.5 Year RI in Bribery Case
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The CBI Court, Patna today i.e. on 08/07/2025 sentenced Liyaqat Ali, the then Manager (Quality Control), FCI, Buxar to 1.5 years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) with a fine of Rs.25000/- in a Bribery Case.
CBI had registered the instant case on 13.05.2010 against Liyakat Ali, the then Manager (Quality Control), FCI, Buxar on allegations of demanding ₹. 7200/- as bribe for processing and passing of bills.
During investigation it was revealed that the complainant PACS President, District Buxar purchased paddy from farmers and after milling deposited 26798240 kg of rice in FCI Buxar. The bill for the said quality of rice amounted to ₹4,49,942.44. When the complainant met the accused Liyaqat Ali, Manager (Quality Control) FCI, Buxar for processing and payment of his bill, the accused demanded a bribe of ₹7200/- at the rate of ₹27 per quintal from the petitioner for processing the Bill.
CBI laid a trap on 13/05/2010 and apprehended the accused while demanding and accepting bribe of ₹7200/-. The bribe amount was recovered from accused by the CBI team.
After Investigation, CBI filed a charge sheet on 15/09/2010 against the accused.
The Ld. Court found merit in the charges against the accused person and convicted/ sentenced him accordingly.
