Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is set to finish crediting 8.25% interest for the financial year 2024-25 into members’ accounts this week.

This means 99.9% of establishments and 96.51% of member accounts have already received their interest. The remaining accounts are also expected to be updated within this week.
The 8.25% interest rate for FY 2024-25 was approved by the Central Government on May 22, 2025. Following this, the annual account updates began swiftly on the night of June 6, 2025. This year’s process has been significantly streamlined for faster crediting, especially when compared to the previous year (2023-24), where the process stretched from August to December.
The interest rate of 8.25% for FY 2024-25 was decided by the Central Board of Trustees of the EPFO on February 28, 2025. This rate is consistent with what was provided in the preceding fiscal year (2023-24).
EPF continues to be a strong option for savings, offering relatively higher and more stable returns compared to many other fixed-income instruments.

- EPFO Website: Visit epfindia.gov.in, then go to “Services > For Employees > Member Passbook,” and log in with your Universal Account Number (UAN), password, and captcha.
- UMANG App: Download the UMANG app, log in, select “EPFO,” then “Employee Centric Service,” and “View Passbook” using your UAN.
- SMS: Send “EPFOHO UAN ENG” (or your preferred language code) to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number.
- Missed Call: Give a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number.
