Late Friday night, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI executed a high-risk search warrant at a residence just two miles from Nancy Guthrie’s home.
- The Scene: Neighbors reported a heavy presence of SWAT teams, mobile command units, and forensic specialists.
- The Detentions: At least three individuals were taken into custody at the scene. Simultaneously, a man was intercepted and detained during a nearby traffic stop for questioning.
- The Perimeter: Roadblocks were established near East Orange Grove Road and North First Avenue, sealing off the area as investigators processed the site.
The Investigation Thus Far
The urgency of this operation stems from several chilling discoveries made since Nancy Guthrie—mother of Today show’s Savannah Guthrie—went missing on February 1:
- Forensic Evidence: Traces of Guthrie’s blood were found on her front porch, and her doorbell camera was intentionally disabled.
- The “Hiker” Suspect: The FBI is currently hunting a masked, armed male (approx. 5’10”) seen in surveillance footage carrying a black Ozark Trail Hiker Pack.
- The Reward: A $100,000 reward remains active for information leading to her safe return, which is critical given her need for daily heart and blood pressure medication.
