A weekend delivery turned into a tragedy in the Craigleith ski area on Saturday, January 31, 2026. A 43-year-old food delivery driver is currently fighting for his life after being struck by a motorist who fled the scene.

The Incident

The collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Grey Road 19. According to the Collingwood OPP, the driver had stepped out of his vehicle and was on foot to complete a delivery when he was hit.

The suspect vehicle did not stop to provide assistance, leaving the victim with life-altering injuries. Emergency responders arrived shortly after, and the man was evacuated via ORNGE air ambulance to a specialized trauma center.

Ongoing Investigation

Police processed the scene overnight, leading to a temporary closure of Grey Road 19 between Craigleith Road and Birches Boulevard. While the road has since reopened, the search for the driver and the vehicle continues.

Police are specifically looking for:

  • Dashcam Footage: Anyone driving through the Craigleith/Blue Mountain area between 8:15 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. on Saturday.
  • Property Surveillance: Homeowners or businesses on Grey Road 19 with external cameras.
  • Vehicle Damage: Information regarding vehicles in the area showing fresh, unexplained front-end or side-mirror damage.
